SHORTS
These are a small collection of short films and projects that I have been directly involved in, whether it be in a small way or as the creative head of the piece itself.
With every project that I've worked on so far, I have not only fallen in love with the process, but I've also come to realise my biggest flaws when creating. Learning lessons like these are absolutely crucial and there's something more satisfying in learning on your own rather than have someone else tell you what to do.
I had a blast working on these projects, and I hope you like some of these on display!

YOU'RE GOING TO DIE

"When a mentally unwell individual comes across a poster that predicts his fate, an unusual ally comes to his aid."
Oisin Carrol (Benji) and Thomas Collins (Love/Hate) star alongside each other in this existential comedy about a young and anxious commuter coming across a poster that predicts his coming demise, struggling to grapple with this knowledge, he panics, and an everyday working man attempts to soothe his fear.

This is a short film that I wrote, edited and directed. It was inspired by grim marketing techniques that are sometimes used by advertising agencies to grab people's attention. I used this to construct the film's narrative structure. I learned a lot from making this short and getting to be able to have complete creative freedom was something I really enjoyed, but I also realised my biggest faults as a creative and this film was probably the best learning experience I have gotten so far in my creative journey as a director/writer.

On this student short I joined the crew a little later on as its director of photography. I worked closely with the cast and its crew to make the script feel more cinematic and make it have its own identity. This was a student assignment project for my second year of studies in Dublin Business School, It was worked on from January 2025 all the up until May of the this year and will be submitted multiple student film festivals. I really enjoyed my time on this project and felt that it was a very important film to work on for my personal development.

This was a short film that I worked on completely alone on as part of a 24hr challenge to myself, It's all shot in my estate, and inside my house. Despite being an overall goofy and ridiculous, (and very hard to watch from my pov) I'm actually quite surprised how well my cinematographical skills were on display here. I shot it in 1.5hrs and used a 300 euro camera with no script, storyboard or crew and only using a tripod as my equipment. I'm proud on this short and how ridiculous it is.

Not long after I finished my first year of college had ended I wanted to try my hand at making a project on my own for the first time. This short was admittedly very rushed in it's planning, but its execution was something that was well done in my opinion. Considering this was a project that was written, shot and edited all in the same week of its conception. This is a project that highlights the enthusiasm I have towards my work.
(Even if it's to my detriment)

Despite making this project in college, this was not an assignment. This was an experimental piece inspired by the film 'La Jetee' by Chris Marker. It's made up of still images and was made as part of a research paper by Dr. Barnaby F. Taylor in Dublin Business School. I was the Director of Photography on this project and I absolutely loved it and would definitely do it again, this was my first film made in college and my favourite so far.

This was the first film project that I undertook in my first year. This short was shot by 1st-year level 7 students and then edited by 1st-year level 8 students. I learned a lot while editing this short and took a lot of skills with me that I still of course use today.
